Netherrealm has revealed a new trailer for Injustice 2 teasing storyline. The game now shows Batman trying to round up the remaining members of Superman’s group of renegade heroes. Things aren’t easy as a new threat appears that threatens to force new allegiances within the DC universe.
A couple of interesting plot points appeared in the two minute trailer. First of all was a scene with Batman fighting Robin. It’s difficult to say why the two are coming to blows, but it should be an interesting twist for the dynamic duo to find themselves on opposing sides.
Another point showed what appears to be a four way standoff between Batman, Superman, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman. All appearing with a voiceover by new villain Brainiac. Who says that lines will be redrawn.
According to the announcement on the PlayStation blog, Injustice 2 will still focus on the battle between Batman and Superman. However, Netherrealm is drawing inspiration from the tie-in comic series to find new directions for the characters and how to tell their stories.
Also included in the video was some pre-order information. It all boils down to receiving a new character for the game in the form of Darkseid. The ruler of Apokolips has yet to make an appearance in Injustice, and it will be interesting if he actually plays a part in the proceedings.
