Lenovo is catering to smart TV owners who want a proper keyboard interface. The Lenovo 500 Multimedia Controller is just that, and apparently also doubles as a touchpad for moving the cursor around on screen.
On the surface, the controller looks like an oddly shaped QWERTY keyboard. It’s not very large either, only measuring some 145 x 85.6 x 18.8mm. For which is roughly the size of a Nintendo 3DS.
What makes the Lenovo 500 Multimedia Controller interesting is the fact that the entire surface is a touchpad. This includes the entire keyboard. We’re not sure how this works, seeing that there are no examples of it in action.
Lenovo has provided the controller with an impressive 20m of range. Considering that it can also be used to control computers, this opens the opportunity for uses other than just smart TVs.
The Lenovo 500 will be available in March 2017 for $54.99 (about RM250).
