Vmall.my Opens Trade-In Programme For Honor 5X

Vmall.my has announced a trade-in programme for the Honor 5X. The promotion allows buyers to turn in their old smartphones for an e-coupon to be used to purchase the Honor 5X through the online store.

Honor has not listed the kinds of smartphones it will be taking in during the trade-in programme and customers will have to visit the site to see for themselves. At the moment it looks like the company will be accepting phones from Samsung, BlackBerry, HTC, Sony, Lenovo, LG, Asus, Nokia, Xiaomi, and Apple. Not all phones from these brands will be accepted, although it seems that most models released in the last couple of years are on the list. Naturally, a majority of Huawei and Honor smartphones are also eligible for the programme.

Vmall Trade In Honor 5X

The trade-in programme functions in a manner similar to the Trade-In & Go Green programme offered on Vmall.my two months ago. That being said, this particular programme appears to have already expired and is no longer available.

Essentially, customers will have to register their smartphones through Vmall.my and arrange for the device to be picked up for verfication. Honor will then look over the device to determine its condition; after which the e-coupon will be sent back to the customer. Verification will be done within five days of receipt of the device, which means that the entire process could take up to a week to complete.

Interestingly, the FAQ for the trade-in programme indicates that the e-coupon can be used to purchase any device on Vmall.my; despite the information we’ve received saying that it is only eligible for the Honor 5X. It looks like the marketing direction is pushing the Honor 5X, although the coupon is valid for the rest of the site. In any case, the e-coupon will only be valid for three months after it is issued.

One final thing is that customers using the trade-in programme will receive a complementary honor 5X protective screen and cover. There are limited stocks of these extras and they will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.
