At the global launch event for the Huawei Mate 9, the Chinese company also briefly unveiled its latest fitness wearable, the Huawei Fit. Featuring an always on touch display and heart rate sensor, it is able to sync with both iOS and Android devices.
As a fitness tracker, the Huawei Fit offers the essentials: step counter, continuous heart rate sensor, and a calorie and sleep tracker. Via the Huawei Wear app, the Fit also pushes notifications for calls and messages. With its 80mAh battery, Huawei claims the 35g Fit can last for six days of use. It is also water resistant up to 50m.
In terms of hardware, the Fit does appear rather barebones. The display is a 208 x 208 monochrome touch display, and while the processor wasn’t mentioned, the official press release states that the Fit has 256KB RAM, 1MB ROM, and 16MB of flash storage.
The Huawei Fit is available in selected markets from today, and is priced at €199 (about RM920) in Europe, and $129.99 (about RM545) in the US, with 3 colour options (Blue, Black, and Orange).
