Xiaomi’s two new smartphones, the Mi Note 2 and the Mi Mix, will not be heading out of the Chinese market anytime soon, according to Xiaomi VP of Global Operations, Hugo Barra.
Given the exciting new features found in both devices, it is perhaps very disappointing to hear that Xiaomi has “no current plans” to bring the devices out of its home market. At a group interview session with Malaysian and Singaporean media, Barra appeared to be convinced that the Mi Note 2 and the Mi Mix in particular will be China-only devices.
In fact, Barra claims that the Mi Mix are limited-run devices, but he did not elaborate how many units are to be manufactured.
