During its Zenvolution event last month, ASUS Malaysia has announced the plan to release several 7th generation Intel Core laptops into the market including ZenBook 3 and Transformer 3 Pro but has yet to released them into the market till today. Hence, it seems like the lower end A-Series laptop might be the company’s first Kaby Lake-based laptop in Malaysia instead.

However, the particular model which is called A456UR is not an all-new model. Instead, it is an existing model that has been refreshed with Intel Core i5-7200U while most of its components were identical to its Skylake-based predecessor which also carries the same A456UR model name and still listed on ASUS Malaysia’s August/September product guide.

ASUS A456UR with 7th Gen Intel Core i5Such components include 14-inch 1366 x 768 display, 4GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB SATA hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 930MX with 2GB DDR3. In terms of color choices, the laptop is available in dark brown (A456UR-GA082T), dark blue (A456UR-GA083T), gold (A456UR-GA084T) and red (A456UR-GA085T).

At the same time, the Kaby Lake-based A456UR is also priced at RM 2,299 which is identical to the original price of its Skylake-based A456UR predecessor. Hence, do keep a closer look at the specs if you planning to get your hands on the laptop and make sure that you are paying for the correct processor.
