Just moments after its global launch in Taipei, MSI Malaysia has announced that the company’s latest gaming laptops – powered by the just-announced Nvidia GeForce 10 Series GPU for notebooks – are now officially available in Malaysia.

From the highest-end GT83VR with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 SLI to the entry level models featuring GeForce 1060 GPUs, the company has come out in full force today with the release of new models in the GT, GS, and GE series.

The highlight, once again, falls on the GT83VR Titan SLI. Tuned for the highest VR performance, this year’s model features an enhanced Cherry MX mechanical keyboard with SteelSeries Engine 3. But of course, this beast is nothing without the hardware within: the Malaysian model is powered by two Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI configuration, with 8GB GDDR5X memory.

Other hardware aspects of the GT83VR include an Intel Core i7-6820HK unlocked processor, an 18.4-inch Full HD IPS display, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD with a 1TB 7200rpm hard disk, and even a Blu-Ray writer.

Meanwhile, slightly lower down is the GT73VR laptop. Two models are available for this 17.3-inch beast. The GT73VR (6RF 082MY) sports a Core i7-6820HK processor, a 17.3-inch 4K IPS display, a single GeForce GTX 1080 GPU, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD with a 1TB 7200rpm hard drive, and a Blu-Ray writer.

The second model, the GT73VR (6RE 016MY), is powered by a Core i7-6700HQ processor, a single GTX 1070 GPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD with a 1TB 7200rpm hard drive, a Blu-Ray writer, and a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate.

There are two more models in the GT series: the GT72VR and the GT62VR. The GT72VR model coming to Malaysia is the one that comes with Tobii eye tracking technology. It’s powered by a Core i7-6700HQ and a GeForce GTX 1070, and features a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB M.2 SATA SSD and a 1TB 7200rpm hard drive, and a Blu-Ray writer.

The GT62VR is a smaller model, and without the fancy Tobii eye tracking tech. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and the same GTX 1070 as the GT72VR, but with a smaller 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display. Rounding up the specs list are 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB M.2 SATA SSD + 1TB 7200rpm hard disk, but no Blu-Ray drive.

And then, there are the GS series of slim gaming laptops. Three new models are available in Malaysia: the GS73VR Stealth Pro, the GS63VR Stealth Pro, and the GS43VR Phantom Pro. They are practically all the same device, with the only difference being display size and resolution.

Inside all three GS laptops are a Core i7-6700HQ processor, a GTX 1060 GPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD, and no optical drive.

The GS73VR sports a 17.3-inch 4K IPS display, while the GS63VR features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, and the GS43VR packs a 14-inch Full HD IPS screen.

Finally, there’s the GE series. Two new models are introduced today: the GE72VR Apache Pro and the GE62VR Apache Pro. Again, both are similar models, packing a Core i7-6700HQ processor, a GTX 1060 GPU, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and even a DVD-RW drive.

The main differences between the GE72VR and GE62VR are display (17.3-inch Full HD IPS vs 15.6-inch Full HD IPS, respectively), and storage (256GB M.2 SATA SSD + 1TB 7200rpm HDD vs 128GB M.2 SATA SSD + 1TB 7200rpm HDD, respectively).

These new models all come with new features, including innovative new cooling solutions, Thunderbolt 3 ports, and even MSI’s own control centre software, Dragon Center, which allows you to tweak everything from backlit keyboards to performance boosting.
