Grab is following its PokeMobile promotion with more discounts for Pokemon Go players. The ride sharing service is offering RM5 for players moving between locations that have been designated as PokeAreas – meaning places that the team thinks are the best for hunting Pokemon.
This new promotion is only available for two rides to the PokeAreas, and only applies to GrabCar (economy) rides. Additionally, Grab has not specified where these PokeAreas are; and it looks like those looking to take advantage of the offer will have to fire up their Grab apps and take a look for themselves.
Notably, this does not appear to be actually limited to Pokemon Go players. Instead, just about anyone can use the “POKEAREA” destination code to see a list of locations covered. The GRABPOKEMON promo code can then be used in conjunction with the location to get the RM5 ride.
One other thing to note is that this promotion does not only apply to the Klang Valley. Country Head of Grab Malaysia, Jaygan Fu, said, “Our cars have been on the road for two days (referring to the PokeMobiles) and our drivers had so much fun transporting many excited passengers and also attracted members of the public who just wanted a photo of the car. Hence, we wanted to offer something extra to Pokémon fans outside Klang Valley as well!”
