U Mobile is celebrating Pokemon GO’s arrival in Malaysia and wants to bring its customers along for the journey. From the 10th to the 23rd of August, U Mobile is organising the “Power Up for Pokemon GO” contest and the telco is ready to giveaway 10 units of iPhone 6s, RM42,000 worth of postpaid and prepaid credits, powerbanks and even discounted Uber rides to the winners.
To participate, U Mobile customers will have to pay close attention to the telco’s social media accounts. U Mobile will be announcing the type of Pokemon that needs to be captured for the day, and participants will have to do their best to capture it. To provide proof, customers will have to take a screenshot of the Pokemon in the wild and upload it to Instagram with a caption and the hashtags #pokeonz and #Umobile.
U Mobile will also be dropping lure modules at selected locations to help its customers catch more Pokemon. The location of these Pokestops, however, will be announced at a later date via the telco’s social media pages.
Not only that, users will also be given discounts off of their Uber rides from the 10th of August to the 10th of September to their selected Pokestops or Gyms. When it comes to battery life for your smartphone, U Mobile has collaborated with Lazada to give discounts for powerbanks purchased from the e-commerce site. The offer will last for a period of one month starting from the 10th of August 2016.
U Mobile hasn’t uploaded the contest page to its website yet, but it should be available through this link when it appears.
