Custom Radeon RX 460 graphics cards by Asus and Gigabyte has been leaked. Namely the Gigabyte Radeon RX 460 WindForce 2X and the Asus ROG Strix RX 460. Unlike their larger, more powerful counterparts, both manufacturers have decided to release small form factor graphics cards instead.

Gigabyte seems to have taken design cues for the Radeon RX 460 WindForce 2X from its lineup of G1 Gaming Radeon RX graphics cards. It still features the dual fan cooling system that are complemented with four asymmetrical orange stripes. Based on the leaked images, it can be assumed that the graphics card will come with a one DisplayPort 1.4, DVI and HDMI ports each.

Looks however, can only say so much about the performance of a graphics card. PurePC have managed to put the Gigabyte Radeon RX 460 WindForce 2X graphics card through its paces and the outcome is rather interesting. When tested with Crysis 3 at High settings and a resolution of 1080p, Gigabyte’s graphics card struggles to hold a constant 30fps.

Similar results can be observed with graphically demanding games such as: Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto V, and Witcher 3: The Wild Hut. That said, in almost all comparisons made by PurePC, the RX 460 seem to perform better compared to the GTX 750 Ti.

Next up is the Asus ROG Strix RX 460 graphics card that comes with several features that are found on the ROG Strix RX 470 and RX 480 graphics cards. The most notable features being the DirectCU II Cooling Technology – which Asus claims to allow its graphics card to be 30% cooler compared to the reference Radeon RX 460 – as well as Aura RGB Lighting.

When it comes to performance, the Asus ROG Strix RX 460 is said to be 8.2% faster compared to the reference card when tested with Fire Strike Extreme. In addition, Asus claims its graphics card to have 38.6% better gaming performance compared to the reference Radeon RX 460.

Upon release, the Asus ROG Strix RX 460 should come with a OC Mode clock speed of 1256MHz along with an effective memory clock speed of 7000MHz. Connectivity options include: one DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 ports each.
