Some might expect manufacturers to take their own sweet time to release their new GeForce GTX 1060 custom cards in Malaysia but interestingly, that doesn’t seem to be the case. After ZOTAC GTX 1060 AMP Edition, now users are also able to get their hands on the new MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X in our market.
Just like the previously released Gaming X cards for GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, the GTX 1080 variant also carries the company’s Twin Frozr VI thermal solution which include twin Torx 2.0 fans, RGB lighting, 8mm copper heat pipes, and nickel-plated copper baseplate. In addition to the usage of premium thermal compound, the card also features the ZeroFrozr silent mode that would automatically turn off its twin fans once the card’s temperature goes under 60 C.
Another interesting thing to note about the MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X is that it comes with an 8-pin connector instead of the 6-pin connector that is part of NVIDIA’s reference design. The GTX 1060 Gaming is also equipped with high quality components and metal back plate to further increase its durability and stability.
In terms of clock speed, the card’s GPU is factory tuned to go as high as 1,809 MHz in OC mode while its 6GB GDDR5 VRAM also goes up to 8,100 MHz when the OC mode is actived. Priced at RM 1499, we have only spotted the card at this particular retailer at the moment although we expect the card to be made available in more stores very soon.
