Brightstar Malaysia Confirms OnePlus 3 Is “Coming Soon”

After appearing in SIRIM’s database a few days ago, Brightstar Malaysia has confirmed on its Facebook page that the OnePlus 3 will be arriving on our shores. Based on what we could gather, the device will very likely be available for purchase in August next month.

We reported a few days ago that the business development manager of OnePlus, Ruta Klyvyte, confirmed on her Twitter page that the company is “working hard to bring the OnePlus 3 to Malaysia in August.” Seeing how she also tagged Brightstar Malaysia in that particular tweet, it’s likely that the distributor is also targeting an August release.

Considering the fact that the OnePlus 3 was only made official exactly a month ago, an August release date is a very timely one. However, it’s worth noting that the OnePlus 2 was available exclusively from Maxis when it was launched in Malaysia; it still remains to be seen if the same will happen with the OnePlus 3.

As far as specifications go, the OnePlus 3 is definitely a high-end flagship smartphone. It’s packed with a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of non-expandable storage, a 16MP rear camera with optical and electronic image stabilisation, an 8MP front-facing shooter, as well as a 3,000mAh battery with support for OnePlus’ very own Dash Charge technology.

While we can’t say for sure if the OnePlus 3 will be launched in Malaysia next month, it’s likely to be the case if everything goes right. It will certainly be interesting to see how much the device will go for in Malaysia.
