Transcend has announced the availability of its latest 1TB MTS800 M.2 SSD in Malaysia. According to the company, the 1TB MTS800 SSD will be retailing for a price of RM1,999. The MTS800 M.2 SSD comes with plenty of features that may be useful for consumers that want faster transfer speeds for their laptops and PCs.
Transcend mentioned that its MTS800 SSD is utilising the SATA III interface instead of the faster PCI-Express lanes. That said, the fact that this the MTS800 is an M.2 SSD means that it is still capable of blazing fast transfer speeds – despite using SATA III. Speaking of which, the sequential read and write speeds of Transcend’s latest 1TB M.2 SSD is recorded at 560MBps and 460MBps respectively.
In addition to that, Transcend has equipped the MTS800 with plenty of built-in data protection technologies such as: ECC (Error Correction Code), Device Sleep Mode as well as the S.M.A.R.T technology, which actively monitors the “health” of the MTS800 SSD. Interestingly, the 1TB MTS800 M.2 SSD also comes with ISRT (Intel Smart Response Technology); this technology allows the SSD to be used as a cache for the HDD and the system itself.
Aside from the 1TB variant of the MTS800 SSD, Transcend has also released other storage variants of the M.2 ranging from 32GB all the way to 1TB.
