redOne, Malaysia’s first and only postpaid MVNO telco, recently introduced a new Data8 plan that comes with 500MB of data and free unlimited calls to other redONE users for only RM8 a month. The telco’s older plan also costs RM8 a month, however, it does not come with any data at all.
In addition to that, redONE’s plan also offers a flat calling rate of RM0.15 a minute to all other networks. SMS charges are at RM0.05 to redONE numbers, and RM0.10 to all other networks. For those who need more, you may add on a data bundle starting from RM20 a month for 1GB of data, all the way up to RM60 a month for 5GB of data.
Do note that if you exceed the 500MB monthly data in the Data8 plan, you will be charged at a pay-per-use rate of RM0.10/1000kb. In order to enjoy “unlimited” data, you must sign up for a data bundle. As with other telcos, if you finish up the data in the add-on bundle, you may continue to surf for free however, the speed will be throttled to 64kbps.
This is a permanent offer from redONE, and is already available for you to subscribe to. There’s a minimum contract period of 6 months, and if you terminate the service before your contract is up, you will be subjected to a penalty as shown in the Customer Agreement Form during your subscription. Existing redONE subscribers may change to Data8 plan as long as you are not bound to a contract.
redOne’s existing plan also costs RM8 a month with free unlimited calls to all redONE users. However, the plan does not come with any data, and you will need to add at least RM5 a month to enjoy 100MB of mobile data or pay at a pay-per-use rate of RM0.10 per MB.
