RHB has signed a three-year exclusive agreement with online restaurant reservation portal, Tableapp, to kick off the bank’s aim of creating a digital ecosystem for its customers. Both parties aim to bring an innovative dining experience to their customers, by giving them the ability to instantly make restaurant reservation, cashless payments, and more.
This is RHB’s first collaboration with a startup to provide lifestyle offerings as well as e-commerce payment services. For example, the bank will enable cashless payments to be made via Tableapp. RHB customers will also get exclusive discounts as well as Tableapp offers via the RHB Mobile Lifestyle app. In the future, the bank will also be embedding the restaurant reservation feature into RHB banking apps.
On Tableapp’s part, the app is capable of providing customers 24/7 instant restaurant reservations. The app is free to use and there is no charge for cancellations or no shows. Moving forward, Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, Group Managing Director for RHB Banking Group, has said that customers will eventually be able to pre-order online and pay for their meals even before arriving at the restaurant. Other than that, customers will also be able purchase discounted dining vouchers for premier restaurants around Klang Valley.
Tableapp was founded back in 2013, and the app now has 100,000 registered users. Currently, there are 380 restaurants using the Tableapp reservation system with an additional 100 in Bangkok, Thailand. What’s next for the company is to expand to Penang and Johor. The app hopes to work with a total of 1,000 restaurants by the end of 2016.
Those interested can download Tableapp on both the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. This is an interesting collaboration between RHB Bank and startup, Tableapp. Although, we’re more interested to see how well the service will perform.
