Celcom has just unveiled two new FIRST postpaid plans, offering up to 12GB of mobile internet. Subscribers get to stream unlimited music, and their usage can even earn them bonus internet of up to 2GB. Not to mention Celcom’s feature to carry forward unused internet.

The First Blue plan has a monthly commitment of RM45 and it comes with a total of 6GB internet. It features a combination of 2GB monthly quota and 2GB free Celcom WiFi. Interestingly, the FIRST Blue and Gold plans differ from the other postpaid plans by having an additional 2GB on the weekends for free, 500MB each week for the FIRST Blue plan.

On the other hand, the FIRST Gold plan is catered more towards power users. At a monthly commitment of RM100, Celcom’s FIRST Gold plan comes with a total of 12GB mobile internet – 4GB monthly quota, 4GB free Celcom WiFi and another 4GB to be distributed equally on the weekends.

On top of that, subscribers receive CLUB privileges and bonus internet if their usage passes over a certain threshold. The FIRST Blue plan, will give the subscriber an extra 500MB when his bill goes over RM100 (not including roaming charges). Otherwise, both plans will have the same threshold – 1GB for over RM225 and 2GB for over RM500. More importantly, roaming usage does not qualify for the calculation of bonus internet. Subscribers should know that the quota given on the weekend is not measured into Celcom’s Carry Forward feature.

Furthermore, FIRST Blue subscribers will get 50 minutes of calls and 50 SMS, while FIRST Gold subscribers have 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS. These free calls and SMS can be used to all networks, and the subsequent usage rate is at 20 sen a minute and 20 sen an SMS for both plans.

Being a FIRST plan from Celcom, subscribers will get to carry forward unused internet of up to 2GB on the Blue plan and 4GB on the Gold plan. In addition, signing up with auto debit will also entitle subscribers to an extra 5% savings over the monthly bill.

Do note that these plans will be replacing current Celcom plans. However, Celcom subscribers on existing plans can continue to enjoy their respective plan’s benefits. In addition, device bundles in the future will be altered to compliment the FIRST Blue and Gold plans. As these plans don’t have any contract, subscribers can opt out anytime. Any takers?
