For those who wish to get the newly announced Sony SmartBand 2 that features a heart rate monitor, the wearable is now listed in Sony Malaysia’s website for RM599.
The Sony SmartBand 2 is the latest smart wearable from the Japanese company. It is similar to the first generation SmartBand – it’s essentially just core that fits into a wide range of different bands from Sony. This time round, the core has a heart rate monitor built into it, so it can track the wearer’s heart rate for a more accurate reading of his/her health.
Like most wearables from Sony, the SmartBand 2 works with the company’s own Lifelog app for Android devices. Once paired, users will be able to have access to their fitness (sleep and steps), well-being, stress level, and such.
Finally, while there’s no display so you can’t use the SmartBand 2 to tell the time and to check your notifications, there are LEDs and vibration alerts on board so you can get a reminder to check your phone should you get a message or call. Other specs include waterproof design, two days of battery life from an hour of charging, and interchangeable bands that are a lot more stylish than before.
The SmartBand 2 is not available on Sony’s online store yet, but since it is already listed in Sony Malaysia’s website for RM599, it should go on sale soon.
