It is certainly one of the many things that Star Wars and science fiction fans out there might be looking forward to see on the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie that will be out later this year. Hence, it is not surprising that this miniature (and functional) version of BB-8 Droid by Sphero received plenty of attention when it was officially unveiled earlier this month.
Here’s for those who are planning to get their hands on it: you now able to get that very Droid in Malaysia from several retailers including long-time local Apple Premium Reseller, Machines.
As for those who wondering, yes, it is indeed an official Star Wars merchandise. According to Sphero, the BB-8 is more than just a passive robotic ball as it apparently has adaptive personality. In fact, it actually able recognize and responds to users’ voice.
In addition to that, Sphero apparently managed to include autonomous capabilities into the Star Wars BB-8 Droid. Of course, users still able to steer the Droid manually just like the original Sphero robotic ball. Comes complete with its own inductive charging dock, users are also able to record holographic message through the Droid which can be viewed via its smartphone app.
Priced at RM 799 which is certainly higher that its USD 149.99 (around RM 637) price tag in United States, the Star Wars’ BB-8 by Sphero is available in limited quantities at selected Machines outlets including IOI City Mall, Suria KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall, and Sunway Pyramid.
