At Sony’s pre-show briefing for Tokyo Game Show 2015, the company has officially announced a new retail price for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. It is now going for 34,980 yen (about RM1,260), a price drop of 5,000 yen (approximately RM180). Other than that, Sony also unveiled several new HDD bay covers and DualShock 4 controllers for the console.
The custom HDD bay covers are available in a plethora of different colours. These include red, yellow, pink, purple, and even gold. These custom covers will go for 2,500 yen (about RM90), and will be available from the 6th of November 2015 in Japan.
As for the DualShock 4 controller, four new colours were announced: Gold, Silver, Steel Black, and a see-through variant dubbed Crystal. The first three variants will cost 6,480 yen (around RM235) and will be available on 6th of November 2015, while the Crystal version will go for 5,980 yen (approximately RM215) once it hit store shelves on 3rd December 2015.
At time of writing, there’s no word yet if the PlayStation 4 will receive a price drop in Malaysia as well. As for now, the custom HDD bay covers and new DualShock 4 controllers seem to be exclusively available in Japan only.
