Good news to all Indonesians who are residing in Malaysia. U Mobile’s latest MVNO partnership is with Telin Malaysia, a local subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, to provide users with a 2-in-1 SIM card called KartuAs 2 in 1.
The prepaid plan offers two phone numbers in one SIM card – one for Malaysia and another for Indonesia. This means that it doesn’t matter if the user is residing in Malaysia or in Indonesia, they can seamlessly switch between the numbers to enjoy the best call rates without any roaming charges. In addition, when their loved ones call from Indonesia, they will be paying local rates because they are calling the Indonesian number.
“U Mobile prides itself for being dynamic and innovative and we believe Telin Malaysia shares the same corporate DNA as their KartuAs 2 in 1 is the most innovative product available to Indonesians living here today. It is flexible and it offers the most competitive rates for IDD and local cals regardless if it is in Malaysia or Indonesia. In short, KartuAs 2 in 1 will change the way prepaid services are offered to Indonesians.” – Tan Hoon San, Chief Financial Officer, U Mobile.
This partnership with Telin Malaysia is U Mobile’s third MVNO and the joint venture is the result of a US$10 million investment. KartuAs 2 in 1 can only be purchased in Malaysia, and the user must register. The target is to have 300,000 signups by the end of 2015.
