Dota 2 excitement is hitting fever pitch this week, as the main event of the The International Dota 2 tournament kicks off later tonight. With local broadcaster Astro showing all main event matches, Mineski Events Team has partnered with TGV Cinemas to showcase the Grand Final of TI5 in its cinema halls.

It may be called a “pubstomp” – local small-scale gatherings to watch live Dota 2 matches – but this will be one of the largest TI5 pubstomps of its kind in the country. Supported by eSports Malaysa (ESM), the country’s governing body, and organised by the best eSports events team in the country, the TGV TI5 Pubstomp will be held at TGV 1 Utama on 9 August from 1-8am; that’s Saturday midnight.

TGV Cinemas will open two halls at its 1 Utama branch for this event, and tickets will be priced at RM25 inclusive of a bottle of mineral water. Ticket holders are free to enter and leave the cinema between 1-8am, and there will also be giveaways held throughout the night. While the cinema’s no outside food rule still holds, the snacks counter will be opened during this period.

More importantly, viewers are more than welcome to cheer their team on during the match.

Tickets for this exclusive event are priced at RM25 each, and will be sold starting from today via TGV 1 Utama sales counters, the TGV mobile app as well as its official website. Tickets are not yet available, and TGV Cinemas will make an announcement on its Facebook page once they go on sale. Due to the limited number of seats, those who are looking to buy these tickets are advised to do so as quickly as possible.

For more information, check out the TI5 Pubstomp promotion page, and keep stalking TGV’s official Facebook page for the tickets announcement.

(UPDATE @ 5:26PM, 4 August) With both halls sold out in a matter of minutes yesterday, TGV has decided to open up another two halls at TGV 1 Utama! More details here.
