Facebook wants to keep your Facebook account safe and secure, which is why the company recently introduced a new “Security Checkup” tool to help you better manage your account.
The new tool will make it easier to find and use the security controls for your account, and is rolling out starting today. To those who already have the tool, you will see a reminder at the top of your News Feed, just click on Get Started, and Facebook will guide you through the process with three simple steps.
The first thing you’ll see is on which devices you are logged into your accounts, and pick to log out on any of them. Passed your phone to someone, but forgot to sign out of your Facebook account? You can easily do it via this new tool.
You can also pick to turn on login alerts that notify you when someone logs into your account. Finally, the new Security Checkup tool will also encourage users to create better and stronger passwords to better protect your account.
Now if only the tool also includes security controls for apps on Facebook, that’ll be really great. The new tool is available globally on desktop, and will be coming soon to mobile devices.
