Two new Microsoft Authorised Reseller stores will be opened in Kuala Lumpur over this weekend. The stores will be located in The Gardens Mall and One Utama, on 30 May and 31 May respectively. Like the existing Microsoft Authorised Resellers, these stores will sell first party Microsoft products like the Surface tablets, Lumia smartphones, and software.
Microsoft will be holding special activities and promotions during the official opening of the stores. Those familiar with the previous store opening in Sunway Pyramid might notice that the promotions are about the same, but that shouldn’t be a problem for people who didn’t get a chance to participate the last time around.
1. A happy hour session will take place at 2:00pm, where the first 30 customers to purchase any Lumia or Surface will walk away with a pair of Monster Headphones worth RM700.
2. With every purchase of a Lumia or Surface, customers will be able to participate in the Live Tiles of Fortune game, where they stand to win shopping vouchers worth RM50.
3. Customers who purchase a Lumia or Surface on the opening day will also receive a lucky draw ticket to take part in the lucky draw session to be held at 6pm on the same day. The grand prize winner of the lucky draw will win free return flight tickets for two (2) to Phuket, Thailand.
4. With every purchase of a Surface Pro 3, customers will also get a free Surface Pro 3 type cover.
5. Customers who purchase a Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL will receive a free flip cover and Office 365 Personal package for 1 year.
6. In collaboration with AirAsia, any purchase of a Lumia 532 and Lumia 535 will enable customers to win 5,000 worth of AirAsia Big points, which can be redeemed for a return flight to selected destinations.
7. Customers can also get their free caricature done on a Surface Pro 3 by artists when they visit the Microsoft Store.
8. Visitors to the store can compete with others in Zombie Tsunami which will be held from 11am – 4pm and 4pm – 9pm. The top three scorers of each game will win a Seagate Wireless Plus HDD, Microsoft Treasure Tag and Coloud Boom Headset respectively.
It should noted that the first promotion differs slightly between The Gardens Mall and One Utama. While One Utama offers the Monster headphones to the first 30 customers, The Gardens Mall will instead be holding a happy hour at 2pm on 30 May to begin this particular promotion.
