It looks like Instagram does not want you to miss out on trending stories on its social network, the company recently begun sending out “highlights” emails to its users.
Highlights emails from Instagram will recap the most popular photos posted from the people you follow, complete with the photo itself, its caption and the likes it has received. This is probably also Instagram’s way of luring back users who’ve strayed from their network.

A spokesperson from Instagram told TechCrunch that this is the first time ever that the company is sending out such promotional or re-engagement emails. For those who’ve been receiving these emails, which started since last week, there’s an unsubscribe button, but TechCrunch noted that there was no email settings in the menu, and no way to re-subscribe.
