Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you would have definitely stumbled upon the Success Kid meme. As it turns out, the father of the now eight-year-old boy requires a kidney transplant, and thanks to the popularity of the meme, the funding for the operation has now reached a whopping US$78,000 of the US75,000 requested.
Justin Griner, the father of Sammy Griner (more popularly known as the Success Kid), discovered that his kidneys were already failing before Sammy was born. He has been going on dialysis for the past six years, which takes about four hours per session for three days a week. Needless to say, it is a very troubling procedure.

In hopes of seeing her husband healthy again, Laney Griner set up a GoFundMe page to raise the necessary money for his kidney transplant operation and post-surgery costs. She also decided not to use the Success Kid meme for the fundraising project so that the focus will be on her husband, which is understandable.
