TM and Digi have officially launched HyppTV Everywhere for Digi. As part of the launch Digi will be offering users zero data charges for the streaming service starting from today until 30 June 2015, which means streaming of HyppTV Everywhere within this time period will not use up the user’s existing data quota.
The collaboration between the two companies started out six months ago and the service’s soft launch began in January 2015. When asked about why TM chose to partner up with Digi, Jeremy Kung – Executive Vice President of New Media TM responded that they believe Digi has the appropriate facilities and billing mechanism to carry out the service for the customers. However, he did also mention that this deal is not exclusive to Digi so we might see the HyppTV Everywhere service expand to other carriers as well.
On the other hand, Christian Thrane – Digi’s Chief Marketing Officer answered questions regarding the streaming service’s data usage. When asked how much data would be used to stream channels, he gave a rough estimation of 100MB for an hour’s streaming. Not only that, he also mentioned that Digi customers who use the service for the first time will receive a seven-day free trial to all channels and access to all available channels until 30 June 2015.
There are five different packages introduced specially for Digi customers, which includes Entertainment, Kids, Dragon, Sensasi, and Sports. The respective pricing and channels included in the packages can be found below:
