Instagram has just added in two new tools to its Android app, allowing you to have more control over how your image look before you share them – Color and Fade.
As the names suggests, Color lets you tweak the shadows or highlights of your picture, adding in a variety of colours like yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan or green “for a colourful flair to the moments you share”. As seen in the example given by Instagram, the orange Color really brings out the effect of the sunrise.
As for Fade, you can add a faded effect to your image, giving your photo a quieter tone by softening the colours. This will give it an “aged film effect’, and you can pick how much fade you would like to add in your picture by sliding the bar.
These new tools are available immediately on Instagram’s Android app (version 6.19.0), while an update to the iOS version will be “coming soon”.
