If you thought that a starting price of RM78 per month is too high for the MaxisONE plan, here’s a new plan that costs only RM58 a month: the MaxisONE plan start. The plan is similar to the MaxisONE plan lite with limitless usage, however it comes with less data…a lot less.
For only RM58 a month, you can get limitless calls to all Maxis and Hotlink numbers – off-net charges are 15sen/min and 10sen/SMS. Sadly though, this plan may be cheap, but it’s definitely not something tech-savvy individuals would like. The MaxisONE start plan comes with only 100MB of data.
The past few months have definitely been an interesting period of time for local telcos. Celcom, U Mobile and Digi all have new plans catered for heavy data users but strangely, Maxis seems to be heading the opposite direction. It recently removed the SurfMore75 plan, a data-centric postpaid plan that comes with 5GB of data and now, this new starter plan only has 100MB of data.
Of course, MaxisONE plan start still allows you to purchase data add-ons from as low as RM10 for 200MB, or up to RM116 for 6GB. If you’re not happy with these plans, thankfully, SurfMore50 is still available, though its call and SMS rates are a little pricey.
