Great news for all of you who lives in (or are travelling to) Penang Island. MyTeksi is currently offering a promotion that lets you ride all around Penang Island at a flat rate of only RM5.
No promotion code needed, just book a ride from MyTeksi via its MyTeksi app for iOS, Android and BlackBerry 10 devices. Do note that the RM5 flat-rate rides are only available for pick-up and drop-off in Penang Island, not the mainland.
So how do you get a RM5 ride in Penang Island? Just download MyTeksi app from the App Store, Play Store or BlackBerry World. Open the app and register with your name, email and mobile number. You’ll need to confirm your mobile number with an activation code before you can use the app. Once done, just key in your pick-up and drop-off locations. MyTeksi will send you an in-app and/or SMS message about the promotion after a taxi has been confirmed for you.
If you travel to and from Penang Island frequently, pack your car keys away and enjoy the promotion. MyTeksi says that you can enjoy the promotion for unlimited number of times throughout March 2015, 24 hours a day. Rides to Penang airport is free too, just as long as your pick-up location is within Penang Island. There’s no headcount too so whether you’re traveling alone or with up to 4 people (including yourself), the RM5 flat rate still applies. Additionally, MyTeksi also says that if the fare is less than RM5, then the ride is free.
