As you might know, Xiaomi has promised that the new Mi 4i smartphone will be released in Malaysia this month. If you are waiting for its arrival in our shores, then the wait is almost over as it was revealed that the company will be revealing Mi 4i’s price for Malaysia next week.
This new fact was revealed at Mi Malaysia’s Instagram page, in a response to questions from its followers as shown above. However, the response didn’t include actual date and time for the official announcement to be made.
From our observations, we believe that the device will be around RM 750 based on the prices that Xiaomi has listed for markets that have already received Mi 4i as shown below:
India: IDR 12,999 (RM 730)
Singapore: SGD 279 (RM 755)
Hong Kong: HKD 1,599 (RM 744)
Taiwan: NTD 6,499 (RM 762)
If this is true, that price tag would made it just slightly more expensive than the existing Redmi Note 4G (RM 625) but still way more affordable than the Mi 4 (RM 1,199) which was released in Malaysia as a 3G-only model.
