LG has officially unveiled its new wearables, the LG Watch Urbane and Watch Urbane LTE. Although the official product name of these two smartwatches is quite similar, make no mistakes; they couldn’t be any more different than each other. At least, when it comes to software.

The LG Watch Urbane is basically a classier-looking G Watch R. With the focus of the Watch Urbane being “luxury,” it has a slimmer bezel than the G Watch R, and the minute markers are now gone. It will also ship with a very premium-looking stitched leather strap.

Although the Watch Urbane looks like a different smartwatch than the G Watch R, it still has the same hardware, including a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, a 410mAh battery, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage.

And then we have the LG Watch Urbane LTE, which is the more interesting wearable of the two; depending on how you see it. Unlike the Watch Urbane, this smartwatch is not running on Android Wear. Instead, it is running on LG’s very own proprietary software which is based on webOS.

Contrary to what LG has said, the Watch Urbane LTE is in fact running on webOS. It is also the first smartwatch to have LTE connectivity, which enables it to make phone calls and check on emails without being connected to a smartphone. Physically, it is also bulkier than the non-LTE Watch Urbane, but considering the fact that it has a huge 700mAh battery, it’s understandable. Other specifications of the Watch Urbane include 1GB of RAM and the very same Snapdragon 400 processor of the regular Watch Urbane.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE will be available in South Korea within the next few months, while the non-LTE Watch Urbane will make it to the US and Europe by the end of April. No retail price has been announced yet for both smartwatches.
