Just like many of the previously released HTC One devices, the HTC One M9 is pretty much one of the world’s worst kept secret. Nevertheless, it is now finally time to say hello (for real) to the new flagship smartphone which was officially launched in Barcelona just few moments ago.
If you have been keeping track of the One M9’s leaks prior to today’s official launch, then you might already aware of what the latest flagship smartphone by the Taiwanese company has to offer. We are indeed looking at a 5-inch full HD display alongside Qualcomm 810 64-bit octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage.
Other than that, the One M9 also features a rear camera with brand new 20-megapixels BSI sensor, F2.2 sapphire lens and dual LED flash. There’s also the UltraPixel camera on the front that apparently able to deliver crisp selfie shots even under low-light conditions. HTC BoomSound dual front facing speakers made their way to One M9 as well, complete with enhancement by Dolby Audio. It is also built with a 2840 mAh non-removable battery and quick charge capability.
In terms of physical design, the One M9 might looked more or less the same as per its predecessors but at the same time, HTC has made some refinement to it by combining brushed metal finish on One M9’s back and mirror-polished frame. Apart from that, the One M9 will also be made available in Gold on Silver, Gunmetal Gray, and Gold on Gold that reflects the dual-finish design very well.
The One M9 also marked the arrival of the new HTC Sense 7 user experience into the scene by being the first device to come standard with it. Inspired by the bespoke experience that offered by many luxuries brand out there, Sense 7 brings together several new features such as location-based contextual widget for One M9’s home screen, customizable navigational bar, Mealtime Bundles for BlinkFeed and system-wide theme customization.
Not enough with that, the HTC Eye Experience on One M9 has also received several new features including new effects in its Photo Editor, downloadable camera moods, and a unified cloud photo album called One Gallery. No price was mentioned at the time this article is written but we do know it will be heading to market throughout the world starting from mid of March this year.
