Does the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 have overheating issues? Some say yes, some says no, but according to this Russian website, it looks like the HTC One M9 that is powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC is indeed facing some overheating problems.

According to mobilissimo.ro who ran AnTuTu benchmark on one of the HTC One M9 found at HTC’s demo area at MWC 2015, the app suddenly displayed a warning message claiming that it is overheating, and is unable to finish the test.

“The device temperature is too high. Please test again after cooling the device. Continue testing may cause the system to restart or shut down”.

Of course, this doesn’t exactly prove that there’s a problem with the processor. A demo unit on show floors are usually always on and have been played with throughout the day, so that could contribute to the heating problem. Moreover, it also might not be the final retail unit of the device either.

It is widely believed that the Snapdragon 810 processor is facing some problems, hence causing a delay for the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. There are rumours that Samsung is using its own Exynos processors on the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge to avoid the problem. However, Qualcomm claims that there is no such thing in a series of tests done by Qualcomm itself. The tests shows that the Snapdragon 810 processor runs cooler than its predecessor. LG also says that the Snapdragon 810 does not have any overheating issues on the G Flex 2. So is it overheating or is it not? Only time will tell.
