Samsung has just launched the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 in Malaysia. The Galaxy A series of smartphones are the only ones from the company that has a full metal unibody design, giving it a more premium feel in comparison to Samsung’s past smartphones that mainly use plastic. Interestingly, Samsung has also announced the availability of the Galaxy A7 in Malaysia, which is arriving this coming February.

The Galaxy A5 is a 5-inch smartphone with a 1280 x 720 resolution Super AMOLED display. Powering it is a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired to 2GB of RAM, while the 16GB of internal storage can be expanded with a microSD card up to 64GB. Other specifications include a 2300mAh battery, 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras, Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, and LTE connectivity.

The smaller Galaxy A3 boasts the same Snapdragon 410 processor, 16GB of internal memory with microSD card support up to 64GB, 5MP front camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat; but that’s where the similarities end. The A3 has a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 Super AMOLED display, a smaller 1900mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and an 8MP rear camera. LTE connectivity is also available on the A3, which is a pleasant surprise.

The upcoming Galaxy A7, on the other hand, is the fastest and biggest of the Galaxy A series. It is rumoured to have a 5.5-inch full HD display, an octa-core 1.5GHz processor (likely the Snapdragon 615) paired to 2GB of RAM, 13MP back and 5MP front cameras, a 2500mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat, and LTE connectivity.

The Galaxy A5 and A3 will be available from 9th January onwards and retails at RM1,199 and RM899 respectively. Unfortunately, while the Galaxy A7 will be launched next month, no retail pricing has been announced yet. In case you have missed it, check out our hands on of the Galaxy A5 here.
