Meizu m1 Note

Meizu recently announced two new phones – the Meizu m1 and Meizu M1 Note. Both of them are mid-range Android smartphones that packs a punch and of course, a budget price.

The Meizu m1 features a 5” 1280 x 768 display with a pixel density of 300ppi. On the inside, it is powered by a 1.5GHz 64-bit MediaTek MT6732 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD up to 128GB. Other specs include a 13MP rear camera made by Samsung, 5MP front shooter, 2610mAh battery, and LTE connectivity.

Retailing at 699 Yuan (about RM405) – I’m pretty sure it’s quite obvious that it’s a direct competitor to Xiaomi’s Redmi 2 that features similar specs and the same price in China. Like the Xiaomi Redmi 2, the Meizu m1 is also available in an array of attractive colours such as white, blue, yellow, green, pink and light blue.

But that’s not all, if 5” is too small for your liking, Meizu also announced another device – the Meizu m1 Note that is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC.

The Meizu m1 Note packs a large 5.5” 1080p display on the front. Right beneath that is a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor that has four 1.5GHz performance cores and four 1.0GHz power-efficient cores on board. This is in addition to the existing m1 Note that was announced last month, which packs a MediaTek MT6572 octa-core processor.

Other specs include 2GB of RAM, up to 32GB of non-expandable storage, 13MP rear camera with f2.2 lens, 5MP front camera, 3140mAh battery, LTE connectivity and dual-SIM support.

The new Snapdragon-powered m1 Note retails at 1,099 Yuan (RM637) and 1,299 Yuan (RM753) respectively, just slightly more expensive than the MediaTek variants.
