To celebrate two decades of PlayStation’s existence (and some also said dominance) in the gaming world, Sony recently has revealed a special 20th Anniversary edition for its PlayStation 4 console with a limited run of only 12,300 units. Naturally, one can expect to see some of these units end up on eBay but guess how much that the console is able to fetch at the popular online auction site?
USD 20,100 to be exact, which is equivalent to RM 70,060. Wow.
Another seller on eBay also managed to command a huge sum for the console although not as much as previous individual at USD 15,100 (RM 52,695). Given the fact that the console is actually priced at USD 499.99 (RM 1,746), all we can say that the thirst is pretty real indeed.
While the console will be heading to Malaysia soon, only 18 units will be made available for our market and gamers need to actually win this particular contest by Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong to even have the right to purchase it. Just like in US, we pretty sure a couple of these consoles will end up for auction online although we don’t think it will actually fetch as much as RM 70,000.
Then again, never say never.
