Earlier this year, AORUS Gaming which is essentially a gaming sub brand of GIGABYTE stormed into CES 2014 armed with a slim but highly powerful 17-inch gaming laptop called X7. Few months after that at Computex 2014, the company followed up with a refresh for the X7 as well as new models with smaller display sizes called X3 and X3 Plus.
So, what’s next then? Well, we have a reason to believe that brand’s next product might be called AORUS X5 and is set to be unveiled to the world very soon.
This is based on the press invite that we have just received from AORUS which depicts the number 5 and a pattern that formed the letter “X”. Additionally, the pattern also contains design elements from existing AORUS laptops such as the matte black paint job and sculpted lines as shown below. The invite also lists down the dates for CES 2015 and the location of AORUS booth at the event.
We also believe that the AORUS X5 might be a 15-inch gaming notebook, based on the name scheme that AORUS used for its existing gaming notebooks. It is also because AORUS doesn’t have any product at the moment that is positioned between its 13-inch and 17-inch gaming notebooks. Hence, a 15-inch model could easily fill that gap.
Of course, AORUS has yet to officially reveal its plan for CES 2015 at this moment. Then again, we should know soon enough as CES is just a month away.
