It appears that Lenovo Malaysia has quietly announced the arrival of its latest flagship smartphone, the Vibe Z2 Pro. What was at one point the most powerful Android smartphone is now available in Malaysia, with a retail price of RM2299.
The Vibe Z2 Pro features a massive 6-inch 2KHD display (2560 x 1440) and keeps the device’s size in check with ultra-thin bezels and a frame that’s just 7.7mm thick. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz chipset with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of non-expandable storage, and a massive 4000mAh battery. The 179g body is made from metal, and the back has a unique “brushed-weave unibody design”.
What will turn heads is with the camera. Packing a 16MP rear sensor with OIS, the camera’s software should be very familiar to Nokia Microsoft Lumia users. The camera UI has a Professional Camera Mode, which is very similar to the Pro Camera app for Lumia devices.
In any case, our sources have indicated that the Vibe Z2 Pro is currently only available in limited quantities in Malaysia. We’re told that only certain retailers sourcing units from ECS, one of Lenovo’s authorised distributors, will have the units in stock. It is currently retailing at RM2,299 and those who purchase the device will also receive a pair JBL E-40 Bluetooth headphones worth RM428 for free – while stocks last.
