Audio specialists Sennheiser has released its latest range of consumer mobile headphones for the Malaysian market. Dubbed the Urbanite series, these new headphones are designed for young professionals who demand exceptional audio quality with stylish and rugged looks that looks nothing like those pair of headphones you see everywhere.

The new Urbanite headphones are available in two variants: the on-ear Urbanite and over-ear Urbanite XL, offering the same level of audio output with deep bass without compromising clarity throughout the entire frequency range. According to Sennheiser, the Urbanite series deliver an “intense club experience on the move”. Both the Urbanite and Urbanite XL feature 1.2m flat cables with in-line mic and music controls, 16-22,000 Hz frequency range and 18 Ohm impedance.

Designed for urban youths, these headphones combine various features that ensures proper durability expected of a Sennheiser product. The headband, though made from metal, is extremely flexible. The upper portion of the headband is covered in tough canvas fabric, while the lower portion is made from sweat-resistant silicone, a move which was spurred by Sennheiser’s internal testing. The earpieces are connected to the headbands via stainless steel hinges, while the cartons themselves are connected to aluminium sliders, adding plenty of durability combined with style.

The Sennheiser Urbanite and Urbanite XL are both available in Android and iOS-compatible versions. The G variants are optimised for Android devices, while the I variant is made for iOS products. These are mainly just to ensure the in-line mic and music control buttons work seamlessly; the music control buttons on the I variant will not work when connected to Android devices, and vice versa.
