Rockstar games has been forced to issue a public service announcement about an email circulating offering a chance to join the beta test for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. There is no official beta test currently planned, and the email is quite likely a phishing scam trying to obtain login information from unsuspecting users.
While the PC port of GTA V has been confirmed to be coming in January 2015, there has been little news coming out concerning the title. While the idea that a beta test is around the corner is a very tempting idea, Rockstar has not announced anything of the sort; which is possibly why scammers have used it this time around. Especially with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game due out next month.
Anyone who has accidentally followed the links provided by the email should change their passwords and implement additional security measures.
