The Marvel superhero themed edition of Disney Infinity is now available in Malaysia. Titled Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition), it brings players back to the open world exploration and sandbox play that made the first version so successful. Of course, the new line of Marvel superhero toys to go along with the game are also well made and very tempting.
The Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack features the 2.0 game software, the Disney Infinity 2.0 Base, Marvel’s The Avengers Play Set with three character figures (Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor), two Toy Box Game Discs, and a web code card. There are additional play sets in the form of Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy; along with additional figures from those worlds sold separately. Disney has included some unusual choices for the initial lineup of figures in the Spider-Man set, with both Nova and Iron Fist also available.
An improved Toy Box area also accompanies the 2.0 edition, with changes made to make it easier for younger players to get started. Using procedurally generated packages, race tracks and other sections can be quickly created without having to place each piece one at a time. Disney Interactive says that this is for the younger gamers who are not yet able to fully grasp the finer points of building things in the Toy Box, or for those with simply no time to invest in complicated builds. More importantly, all characters and Power Discs from last year’s release of Disney Infinity are compatible with Toy Box 2.0.
Figures from other Disney properties will also be released late this year for those who are more interested in the other side of the game. Aladdin, Stitch, and Merida are all set to be making appearance at some unknown time; along with Maleficent and Princess Jasmin.
The Starter Pack with the Avengers Play Set is retailing for RM259, while the Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy Playsets will be going for RM109 each. Each Disney Infinity Figure is sold for RM44; and the Power Disc Packs are going for RM20 each. The game is available on the PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, and on the Wii U.
