Every real major sporting event needs a theme song, and Riot Games apparently thinks that this applies to eSports as well. The company has teamed up with Imagine Dragons to create an entirely new song for the League of Legends Season 4 World Championship that begins this week.
There is a new video to go along with the song, although Riot has opted for a completely different style from their usual 3D animated shorts. It is a bit more cartoony than the usual fare, but works well to promote the Championship that will cumulate in the grand finals in South Korea.
Imagine Dragons also Tweeted about the collaboration, and to mention that LoL is their favourite game. Riot has been extremely successful with their efforts to expand the appeal of LoL beyond simply just an online game with a robust tournament scene.
