Oaxis InkCase Plus

Remember the Oaxis E InkCase we reviewed last year? Well, Oaxis is back and this time round, they have something even more exciting to offer for Android users with the InkCase+. On top of acting as a second screen, you can now install apps and even use the InkCase+ as a map, an e-ticket or shopping list, all in a slim 3.5” e-ink display.

Unlike the big and bulky InkCase we reviewed late last year, the InkCase+ is a slim and standalone e-ink display measuring at 5.7cm x 10.8cm. Weighing only 45 grams with a width of a mere 5mm thich, the InkCase+ is one of the smallest and lightest information displays on the market.

InkCase Plus Receive Calls

The InkCase+ is attached to Android devices using the bundled FitCase flip cover. The InkCase+ can easily be removed so you don’t even need to pull out your smartphone to read your notifications, read your ebooks, control your music and more. This means that you can save the precious battery life on your smartphone because the most common tasks are done via InkCase+; you can even receive calls and switch to speaker mode to talk to your friends.

InkCase Plus with FitCase

The InkCase+ features a 3.5” display in a compact 5.7cm x 10.8cm body. It has a 500mAh battery on board, allowing 7 days of standby time, 3400 pages of reading or 19 hours of continuous operation. It supports all Android smartphones running on Android 4.3 and above though,

Interested? The InkCase+ is available for order immediately on Kickstarter and at the time of writing, the cheapest option of USD$79 are all gone, but you can still get the InkCase+ from as low as USD$89. Expected delivery is October this year.

“Kickstarter provides a unique opportunity to work closely with our customers and have them shape the product we’re creating. We’re excited to be working alongside the Kickstarter community bringing a fantastic InkCase product to Android users for the first time. We regularly hear from our friends and family that their phone has died and we hope that InkCase+ can alleviate the problem by making checking yoru phone a less power-hungry process. We also look forward to the millions of photos people will use to customize their phone making the blank black slate a thing of the past.” – G-Jay Yong, CEO of Oaxis.
