Xiaomi co-founder Bin Lin has teased a new colourway of its flagship Mi 3 smartphone. The Champagne Gold Mi 3 is now available exclusively in the mainland China market…for now.
Bin Lin announced the arrival of the Champagne Gold Edition of the Mi 3 (or “tyrant gold”, if Google Translate is to be believed) via his official Facebook page. The image in the post also states that this variant is exclusive only for the Chinese market, and is now available for purchase – no pre-orders necessary. In addition, the retail price of the Tyrant Champagne Gold Edition Mi 3 will remain the same as the standard Mi 3, at 1499 Yuan (almost exactly RM769).

But, just like its latest products such as the Mi Pad, this model is only available in China at the moment. But who knows? As Bin Lin previously stated, the company wants to bring in all of its products to the international market. Not to forget, there are still several other colourways of the Mi 3 that is still to be made available outside of China. With its next markets already announced in India and the Philippines, it may not be a surprise if this model is brought in as the hero model the way the silver Mi 3 did for Malaysia.
