It looks like the iPhone 6 leaks just wouldn’t stop; over the past 2 days, several different leaks have been unleashed into the World Wide Web, showing off a bigger iPhone 6 with a new design. The leaks include images claiming to be the front panel of the next generation iPhone, mockups, as well as cases.
First up, a Japanese blog, Macotakara.jp, recently posted several images taken at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair that happened from 13-16 April 2014. The picture shows off several mockups of the iPhone 6 made by case manufacturers so that they could show off the cases and accessories they plan to launch together with the next iPhone. As with all the rumors that we’ve been seeing so far, these mockups also shows off a larger iPhone.
Next up, the latest leak of the iPhone 6 is shared by Nowhereelse.fr, showing off a case for the device. As usual, it hints at a larger iPhone and Nowhereelse even did several close-ups to highlight several possible changes Apple will make to its upcoming smartphone including rounded edges, repositioned power button and new thin oblong volume buttons that are similar to an iPod touch.
Finally, two days ago, a picture claiming to be the iPhone 6 front panel was posted into a Chinese forum. The picture shows off a familiar looking front panel that is noticeably larger compared to the iPhone 5S next to it.
A reader of AppleInsider took the picture to a closer look and found that the display measures at about 5.07” diagonal, with an aspect ratio of 16:9, identical to the ratio found on the current 4” display.
We’ve been hearing about a 4.7” and 5.5” iPhone 6 for a very long time now, even the reliable analyst from KGI securities, Kuo Ming-Chi, also suggests that Apple will release new iPhones in these sizes so a 5.1” is indeed a weird one.
As usual, take all these leaks with a pinch of salt, especially the one with a 5.1” display that breaks the 4.7” and 5.5” rumor combo we’ve been reading about since the beginning of the iPhone 6 rumor mill. Check out the source links below for more images.
