With the cloud storage price getting more and more competitive, how does one stay on top? Introduce more new and exciting products of course, Dropbox just announced a new app called Carousel, “a gallery for all the photos and videos from your life”.
Available for Android and iOS users immediately, Carousel is a gallery app that combines photos in your Dropbox account with the photos on your phone, and can even automatically back up new ones as you take them. This means that when you load Carousel, you will be able to see everything you have taken before, and share them out with your friends. Carousel even allows you to save shared pictures into your account.
All the images and videos will be arranged according to the date taken and location, and if you have thousands of pictures, worry not because there is a timeline at the bottom too, allowing you to quickly and easily scroll through all of them.
Other features include:
- A Conversation panel that allows you to easily view back on the things you’ve shared with people and what they’ve shared with you, in a chat-like interface
- The ability to save photos people shared with you right into your account
- Easily hide pictures away from your Carousel without deleting them
