[UPDATE]Well, that was fast. Just several hours after confirming that the HTC One (M8) will be launched in Malaysia at the end of the month, the company has backtracked on the timeline – and instead indicated that it will be arriving in early May instead. Wow.

We heard murmurs from HTC Malaysia that it will launch its latest flagship, the HTC One (M8), sometime before the end of April. Now, it appears that the company has just about confirmed that Robert Downey Jr’s smartphone of choice will be launched at the end of this month.
The tweet embedded above is the strongest indication from HTC Malaysia, and reaffirms the timeline mentioned to us at the recent sneak preview of the HTC One (M8) some weeks back. This may be considered as a little late on HTC’s part as the device was launched in Singapore a few days ago, and more importantly its biggest rival, the Samsung Galaxy S5, will be available for sale this Friday.
Nevertheless, HTC Malaysia have not yet sent out official invites for the launch event of the HTC One (M8), so nothing is set in stone just yet. The retail price of the device is also not yet confirmed, with our sources indicating that HTC is still finalizing it. What we do know is that it will be available on all four major telcos in Malaysia when it is available here.
