Focus Home Interactive, the publisher behind the Blood Bowl PC game and Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich, has announced that it will be releasing the first computer adaptation of Mordheim: City of the Damned – the cult classic game from Games Workshop. Most would be more familiar with the Warhammer 40K series from GW, but this time the company has decided to cater to fans of its specialist game.
The game takes place after the Comet of Sigmar crashed on Mordheim, the City of Damned, turning it into a terrifying battlefield where rival warbands fight fiercely for the control of key neighborhoods, looking for glory and fortune by acquiring the very valuable Wyrdstone fragments.
Mordheim: City of the Damned will include iconic factions such as the Sisters of Sigmar, Possessed, Skaven and Mercenaries from the Empire. It is supposedly a turn based tactical game with RPG elements; which potentially means something similar to X-com: Enemy Within.
The game is scheduled to be released later this year.
