Media Prima Digital and SG-SEA Sdn Bhd have entered into a collaboration to premiere e-sports on Tonton.com.my. This will see the Malaysia and Singapore finals of Crossfire Star being available for viewing on the Tonton sports channel on 25 and 26 January.
Crossfire is a first person shooter by SG-SEA and makes the claim of being one of the most played games in the world with a track record of 4.2 million concurrent users in China. Crossfire is also the official FPS title for the World Cyber Games; which should raise the profile of the finals.
Those not familiar with the game can try it for free, although it does feature a steep learning curve as well as a leveling system that drops additional rewards. There is also a sort of achievement system that provides badges to players along with other rewards.
