Now that iOS 8 has been released and the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be launching tomorrow, what’s next for Apple? iPads and OS X Yosemite of course. It has been reported that the Cupertino company will be holding an event next month to unveil two new iPads and to release the next OS X version.
According to The Daily Dot, Apple will be hosting an event on 21 October 2014 to unveil the next generation iPad and iPad mini, and right after that, they will release the OS X Yosemite, a complete visual overhaul for Mac. Last year on 22 October, Apple announced the new iPad Air and the iPad mini with Retina Display, as well as released OS X Mavericks. According to The Daily Dot’s sources, the company will likely do the same thing this time round.
We haven’t been hearing much about the next generation iPads. The last we saw, the second generation iPad Air (or sixth generation full-sized iPad), will come with Touch ID on board and double the amount of RAM (2GB) to cater for the new multitasking capability. The third generation iPad mini on the other hand will have the same 1GB of RAM, but like its larger sibling, it is reported to come with Touch ID on board.
Hardware wise, both upcoming iPads are reported to be powered by the same A8 processor found on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. So many announcements in just two months, will you buy the next generation iPads?
